Most of the Short Films I researched are to do with children and the problems they face when in school such as violence, bullying. I realised that school children around the same age as those in the film are the majority of the audience. There are the bullies and the children who are being bullied, the victims of bullying usual feel alone and quited sadened, but the film will help them by realising that there not the only ones who suffere from this problem. By the bullies watching the film they may realise what there doing and how it effects the victims. The parents of the school children are also the target audience for this kind of film as they may find out that they child is being bullied and how they can help, also if there childs the bullying help to calm them down and get them away from violence.
Some Categories of Youths:
Trendies- Those who crave the admiration of their peer- Attention seeking and may show off in front of there friends to look 'cool' this sort of person could be the bully using another pupil to mock. They could also be struggling to fit in as an outsider.
Egoists- Those who seek pleasure- These could be rebellious and be peer pressure into bunking lessons, bulling children for just fun etc.
Puritons- Those who wish to feel virtuous- These children would not want to break any rules and do what they are told in school, this could be considered 'not cool' to their peers and result in them getting bullied.
Innovators- Those who wish to make there mark- These could be students

How to Make a short Film?
What you need to make a short Film:
- Descent video camera
- Tripod
- Computer/ Laptop with the correct editing software
- DV Tape
- Sound Kit
- Actors/actresses
- The Location
- Here is the thing; anyone can record and image, but that is not making a film
- Learn the following features of your camera
- focus ring
- white balance
- iris.
- focus ring
- Narrative, or Documentary? Download a free script writing program. A good one is called Celtx.
- If you are going to make a fiction film, Narrative. Think of a basic story idea. You can get a lot of ideas for films from things you read in daily life, short stories, newspapers, etc
- Outline your idea. Write out your script, using Celtx; if you have never written a script before pick up a book that explains script writing and character development, and that along with the Celtx program will be all you will need.
- Write out your script
- Consider the following points in writing your script
- Character development
- Plot development
- Inciting incident
- Character arch
- Character development
- Story-board each shot in the film. Decide what each shot in the movie is going to be. For example, wide shot, over the shoulder, tracking shot, close up, extreme close up, medium wide shot. crane shot, dolly shot, etc.
- Decide what you need for each scene. This is called a breakdown sheet.
- Determine the setting of the scene. Is it external(EXT) or internal(INT)?
- Determine the equipment you are going to need.
- Determine the actors and crew.
- Determine what props, make-up costumes, etc., will be used.
- Start casting for cast and crew for the movie.
- For crew you are going to need as many people as possible, but at least the following
- Camera Man
- Director of photography
- Sound recorder
- Costume and make-up person.
- someone who knows something about lighting Provide food for your crew and expense money and a copy of the film.
- Edit the film, you do not need to use an expensive program at all. With the right skills, a free program that came with the computer can make stunning films. Do not think you need to use the most expensive program out there!
- Show the film to friends and family and/or post it to YouTube. If ybe
Basic Information for a Short Film
What You Need to Know about A Short Film:
Characters:
TODOROV:
Characters:
- Short Films tend to stick to 3-4 main characters, this is because being 'short', short films dont have time to create deep back story or history for characters, therefore character numbers must be kept low to allow the viewer to relate to the characters in the small amount of time.
- The max length for a short film is 35minutes, the typical time is between 5-10 minutes, if tihey were any longer they wouldnt be classed as short.
- Short films nearly always contain a twist, thie reason for twistiing the storyline is to make the short film more interesting as they are short, without one the short film would be uninteresting.
- Short Films typically have a low budget. This is based on the fact that most Short Film directors are independent without the sufficient backing in terms of funding. They keep there budget down by sticking to one or two locations and only using 1-4 actors. having such a Short Film allows costs to be little to nothing in some departments as some actors will work for free if they really like the storyline.
- Short Films usually take an everyday situation that we can all relate to and then flip it on its head in some way. This allows the viewer to relate to the Short Film, but at the same time intriguing the viewer
TODOROV:
- Tordorov's theory of equilibrium is typically applied to Short Films.
- Equilibrium- Everything is normal
- Disequilibrium- A problem occurs
- New Equilibrium- Problem is solved, Everything is back to normal; However a change is noticeable

Short Film's
A short Film in its entirety, lasting approximately five minutes, which may be live action or animated or a combination of both, together with two of the following three options:
This is a short film which is quite strange and i really like the storyline, I found it a bit creepy, but I love how they have created it. This is my favourite short film, I really like the story its something different and I havent seen anything like this before, I love the acting in it, the boy is very cute, miss parday's very lovely and kind and the x fiance is very tough and doesnt care about anybody else but himself and he wears very scruffy, rough, tough, dark clothes and miss parday's the complete opposite. Heres another short film which is a comedy, this ones very simple. Its a bit strange as the men do a lot of strange things such as killing eachothers pets. I do really like this one but were not going to do a short film like this and I personally think its to easy and to simple. This is another short film which I found and I really liked as its quite funny, its different which is always good! and I really like how the gods and the normal down to earth man are shot, theres always low angle shots of the gods to make them look bigger and more powerful and theres high angle shots of the man to make him look small and not powerful at all.
- a poster for the film
- a radio trailer for the film
- a film magazine review page featuring the film

Article on how to make a Music Video
How to make a Music Video:
Choose Your Song
Having a music video can help promote your band, through video sites such as YouTube and MySpace. As well as by getting exposure on national television. If you're a film maker making a music video is a good way of getting exposure and experience and bands are often happy to give you a creative free reign. A video doesn't need to cost a fortune what's important is having a good idea and working within your budget. Production companies charge a fortune for even the simplest promo video, but you can easily do it yourself. First things first, however. You have to choose your song. While it might make sense to make a video for your upcoming single there are a few other factors to consider:
- It can take a lot longer than you think to make a video, so by the time it's finished your single might have come out. It might be an idea to think about making the video for a subsequent single.
- Having said that, in these days of internet downloads, any track can be seen as a single, so there might be a track on the album that you have a great idea for a video for, even if that track wasn't originally planned as a single.
- Remember that it can take a long time to shoot and edit each second of video so while you might have a good idea for a video for that 10 min epic that closes the album it might be more practical to shoot a video for the 3 min pop song.
Get a Team and Equipment Together
However complicated (or simple) your shoot is, you'll need a team of people. As well as the actors/performers you'll need:
It's a good idea supply some kind of refreshments for your crew – that will not only keep them happy but also stop them popping off to the shops to get their own supplies, just when you need them for the shoot.
Ideally you'll be able to recruit a team who have their own equipment. If you have to get equipment, then you'll want to get the best your budget allows. While prices are coming down, buying a camera, lights and other gear will still set you back a small fortune. You'll be able to get more equipment for your money by renting gear; many places have community arts programs where you can hire equipment cheaply. You can also check out the local colleges in your area to see if they can help. If you are looking to buy gear, then do your research. For example you're probably better of buying a higher spec Standard Definition camera, than a bottom of the range High Definition camera.
- Camera person – At least one, and maybe more.
- Lighting Person – If you're filming inside you'll need lighting, and someone to look after it.
- Director/dogsbody – You need someone in charge of the shoot, making sure everything is running smoothly, and who can go buy batteries when you need them.

Plan Your Shoot
The more planning you can do before hand the quicker you'll be able to shoot. If you're renting gear, the quicker you can shoot the less it will cost you, and if you're relying on favors, people will be more willing to help again if you keep the hanging around to a minimum. To plan, you should:
- Draw story boards showing each scene and shot
- List the crew, performers and props you'll need for each shot
- Try and brief the camera and lighting people beforehand so they know what you want from the shot.
Filming
On the day of the shoot be prepared and organised. Keep a record of shots you've made; it'll make editing much easier. Always allow plenty of time for shooting - the finished shot may only last 10 seconds, but could easily take several hours to set up and shoot. When you're happy with a shot, if you have time, shoot it again. You can never have too much footage, and the retake may capture something that you hadn't noticed first time round. You'll have your plan and storyboard to follow, but remember that some of the best moments in a video can be unplanned. Keep the camera rolling – these days tape is cheap.
Capture Live Footage
Filming the band playing live can provide you with great footage for a video. Filming the band at a gig will mean you'll be able to capture the bands live energy and their interaction with the audience. They are some difficulties, however:
Live filming may provide you with some great footage that can be used as part of a video, but if you want live footage to synch to a video, your best bet is to "stage" a live performance. Get the band to play along (or mime) to the track in front of an audience of mates or invited fans. You can then control the lighting, people's movements and get the track played as many times as you need (or at least until the band decamp to the bar!)
- They'll only play the song you've making the video for once so you'll only have one chance of capturing the right footage
- The live version may differ considerable from the recorded version so syncing the footage with the track could be problematic
- The band's, and particularly the audience's, movements won't be choreographed, so you, or your camera person, won't know where to be to capture the right shots
- The lighting and effects may look great to the audience but may not look great to the camera
- Your filming may interrupt the bands performance.
Use Stock Footage
You can spice up your video by adding stock footage but you need to be aware that, like music, almost all video footage is subject to strict copyright law. Making use of footage without the copyright holders express permission is illegal. (That shot from <i>Top Gun</i> may look great in your video but you'll need permission from Paramount Pictures to use it).
However, there are source of footage that you can legally use. Royalty free footage is footage you can re-use in any setting, without asking permission or paying the copyright holder a fee each time you use it - but you may have to pay a fee to obtain it in the first place! Fear not: there is free royalty free footage – footage that's in the public domain. Some sites where you can download public domain footage for free from are:

Editing
Your footage might be great, but it'll only become a great video through editing. To do a good job you'll need patience, time and more patience. You'll need to decide the 'feel' and pace of the video. Will it be made up of long sweeping shots, or quick sharp edits? Do you want to follow the mood of the song and edit to the music or do you want the video to contrast with the track?
The judicious use of the right effect can really set your video apart. As well as your software standard effects, there are usually many plug-ins that you can download (some free, most for a fee) so feel free to experiment (most plug-ins have a trial version you can play with for free before you buy). See tip 3 in the last step for more about the proper use of effects.
A word of warning: if you're making a video as a band it's usually best to delegating the editing process to one person. After they've done a rough edit you can discuss how it should be finished, but if 4 people sit round all trying to edit a video together a long process will become torturous and, almost inevitable, will end in falling outs.

Get the Right Software and Hardware
These days cheap, or even free, software can do a professional job of editing. The basic video software for Macs is iMovie and for the PC, Adobe's Première Elements is a good place to start. The more complex software available may give you more freedom and choice, but for the beginner these package can be overwhelming and very pricey.
Any new computer should be capable of editing film footage, and even a ten year old PC should be able to handle basic video editing software. Video editing takes up a lot of hard drive space, so keep your hard drive clear and get rid of footage your not using (but be careful not to delete footage you ARE using!). Investing in a new hard drive to store you video footage on is probably a good idea.
The output format will depend on it's destination. Highly compressed formats are best for streaming over the internet (Quicktime is the most universal), DVDs are great for send out to press and media, and a DigiBeta tape is need for TV broadcasts (something you'll need to get made up at a professional production company).

Be Creative
How many videos have you seen on MTV that consist of the band playing in a club, with the lights flashing whilst the audience jump up and down? Exactly. Try and think of something different when you make your video. Filming a Hollywood blockbuster on a shoestring budget will generally look crap! One of the most interesting videos I've seen recently was of the band playing in the back of a transit van while it went through a car wash – the only cost was the car wash fee. From this simple idea they made a interesting and quirky video that was premiered on MTV Europe.
Tips for Making a Good Music Video
Beware of Using Excessive Zoom:
It may look cool while you're shooting it, but in the final edit zooming often looks clichéd, and unless done with a very steady hand can often look amateurish.
And Excessive Special Effects:
Even the most basic video editing software has a myriad of of special effects for you to use; color changing, rolling edits, split screens.....it's advisable to use them sparingly. A good video isn't a showcase for how many effects you've mastered. It's usually better to use a couple of effects throughout the video to create a certain feel rather than use as many effects as you can to make a video exciting (if you need to do this, then maybe it's time to rethink your idea. or add some more footage - see Steps 4, 5 and 6).
But Think about Adding Sound Effects:
A dramatic music video may be enhanced with some addition sound effects. If your video begins with someone walking down the street, you could add the sound of footsteps or ambient street noise over the intro. If you're making a video for someone else make sure they won't mind you adding sound effects to their perfectly crafted tune!
Don't Be Over Ambitious:
A simple idea well executed is often more effective than a complex idea done badly.
And Ignore All I've Said:
The most interesting videos are made when the rules of convention are bent, buckled and broken, so keep experimenting and above all else, make something interesting.
Many thanks to video director Arthur T. Flegenheimer (stage name) for his expertise!
This is an article that we found on a website about how to make a music video and we are still deciding now if were going to do a music video or a short film but if we do do a music video this will prove to be very helpful.

Music Videos
Music Videos:
Here are some of my favourite music videos that have caught my eye, not because of the music but because of the video and what happens in it, the camera angles, shots and movements.
I really like this music video because I love how beautifully it is shot, the way the camera moves is so gentle and soft I dont really know how to descibe it but it makes the video so calm and everything moves slowly.
I really like this music video because of the music as it was used on my mum and dads wedding video, I think that its a very powerful song. I also love the video because it quite strong and powerful, I really like the camera angles, shots and movements used especially of the shot under the steps and seeing all the gang of men run up the steps. I also really like the way Jennifer rush is moving upwards as her singing becomes more powerful and when its at the chorus and the camera moves up with her.

Magazine Advertisements For Digipak Research
A magazine advertisement for the Digipak(CD/DVD package):
Heres a magazine advert for the stereophonics and this is the thing that I am hoping to produce when I get a band/group or solo artist. I really like this advert because I think the image they have taken of the sterophonics walking towards us and the rock and sand behind them, I think it really makes them look quite hard, serious and a very professional. I also like how the advert is mostly black and white so they've only used a certain amount of colours, which gives it a professional look. Another good thing about it is that I like how all of the writing is on a plain background, rather being on top of the image and getting confused about what it say's, the title really stands out because of this, and also because of the gold logo behind. I hope that mine would look a lot like this because this is my favourite one and looks very professional. The serif writing doesnt stand out as much as sans serif but the bold black serif writing really stands out in the middle of the advert!
Here's another magazine advert, advertising the release of laga gaga's new album. I dont think this looks as good as the stereophonics advert as its got alot more infromation on it, that i think that it doesnt really need. The image is good, but I think I would be able to do the same if i had the correct lighting and Lady Gaga. I seems like theyhave chosen certain colours for this adevrt but its harder to see it then on the stereophonics advert. The colours are mostly black, blue and a bit of gold and white. But I think this advert looks more like an Advert and the stereophonics Advert looks more like an album cover, so if i do my design of mine either way it will be fine.
Here is another advert I dont like this one as much as its quite plain and not a lot to it, but I like how they have used certain colours such as the black and red, which really sticks out also white which really stands out because of the black behind. They have used sans serif writing so its bold and catches your eye.

Digipak Research
Research for the release of a new album, to include a music promo video, together with a cover for its release as part of a digipak(CD/DVD package) and a magazine advertisement for the digipak(CD/DVD package.
Digipak:
Here are some examples of digipak's, I am hoping to create something like this.
A digipak is a patented style of CD, DVD or BD packaging and is a registered trademark of AGI-shorewood, an Atlas Holdings LLC Company. A CD digipak is a modern sylish alternative to a standard plastic CD case. Digitpak's are printed card packaging that can hold one of more CD's. They are especially popular in the music insutry for CD albums. They give a product an expensive professional look about them, especially when well deisnged artwork is combined with specialist print finishing options.
Digipak's were only originally seen as limited editionsor specialist CD products however improvements in the CD production and CD packaging printing techniques meant that this sleek CD packaging solution is nbow available at much lower quantitites and much lower prices.
They are made out of card stock and the most common CD digipak's is the four panel digipak which opens like a book. However the six panel CD digipak's are also very popular, providing a larger canvas for the CD artwork and text information about the CD.
Digipaks are also very enviormental as they use less plastic also an advantage of the digipak over the jewel case is that it doesnt break as easily, so you wont have to buy another case because you've sat on the other one or having to live with a cracked jewel case with your favourite CD or DVD in!

The Suspect Script:
So we needed a script for our suspect, we writ it up on word and here it is and we gave this to the detective and the suspect so they both new what they had to say.
Storyboard Information
Planning is very key to a high quality production. A script is always created for a film but a script is not always enough. For a video project storyboards are used to sell your idea. All you need to make a storyboard a few sheets of paper, a pencil a ruler or a computer where you can print out a layout for your story to go on, then you just begin making sure you include some of the basic dialogue and the camera angles, shots and movements. By using a storyboard it will help you plan your animation shot by shot and you can change your storyboard or make a new one if you change your mind about what you have came up with.
The Basic language in storyboarding:
The Basic language in storyboarding:
- Extreme Close up
- Close up
- Medium shot
- establishing shot
- Low Angle
- High Angle
- Pan
- Tracking
- Crane
- Tilt
- Zoom
- Fade
- Dissolve
Heres a storyboard which i found on the internet and it shows what I've been explaining by saying what camera shot, angle and movement it is and saying what happens in the scene but others sometimes say some of the dialogue.
Heres another storyboard which I found on the internet and i thought this was a good example of one. This one also shows the sound which is going to be in that shot and also the camera shot, angle and movement and also the action
Here are just a few more storyboards which i found on the internet of storyboards which have been made into films:
Filming locations
We needed a location where it looked like a detectives room for interrogating people and we found the perfect location which was the languages office:
Our Storyboard- Draft 1
This was our first storyboard which we came up with which katie drew and wrote what camera shots, angles and movements accompany that part of the film. We also wrote what they would say in speech bubbles. We later created another storyboard which we added more to it and made the images better and the precise camera shots, angles and movements needed for each part.

Our idea for the Brief and the 180 degree line
Me and my group have decided to create a crime, detective scene for the brief and we will chose a range of different camera shots, angles and movements to fit each part of the scene to create a very well done piece. We have chosen to create a piece about an detective questioning a young girl about a crime that had been committed recently. We are going to use a lot of camera shots, angles and movements when the detective is walking down the stairs past the window and into the room where the girl will be sat. We thought this would be a good idea because it would make the scene very serious and dramatic.
We have recently looked at a short clip from the ring and watched carefully how they created the tension, seriousness and also at parts funniness. There was one this that we looked at very carefully from this clip is the 180 degree line where if you cross over the 180 degree line it will make you confused and make everything look back to front. In the clip they have the cameras all on the front of the bed and every camera is either on the line or in front of it and it doesn't cross it.

Preliminary Task
For planning my preliminary task me and my group first had to plan and draw out a storyboard of our idea adding in the camera angle/shot/movement by the side and also if we wanted to add in speech so our group and others would get the basic idea of what the actors/actresses are going to say. I was the one in charge of drawing the storyboard as I'm very creative and was able to show what the actors/actresses were going to do without having to draw stick people which makes it harder to understand
After we had completed our storyboard we started writting the script for each actor which wasnt to hard because the ideas just popped into our heads and we just wrote them down. Katie was the main writter for the script but we just gave her some ideas. The script isnt very long because our preliminary task only has to be short, so we didnt need a long script.
After this we had to find the actors/actresses, location and when we were going to film. Set up the camera, get all the correct equipment such as the boom and tripod and also the video camera obviously. The place where we are going to film is in the lower school corridor of the school and also in the languages office.

Demo and Preliminary Task
Me and my group have been working on a filming project. So far we have each been using a school video camera to film 5 seconds of each media shot such as close up, medium, long shot etc. Also filming the camera movements such as tracking and also the camera angles such as low and high. We then put the film on to Premier Pro edited how long each clip was and then inserted the name of the camera shot/angle/moevment at the top of each clip. We are now working on our preliminary task where we have to film a person walking into room and sitting down, but we can choose what we want to do for it. Our idea is too have two men, a detective and a policemen walking into an interegation room sitting down infront of a young girl and then talking to her to ask her where she was on the scene of the crime. It seems very simple at the moment, but when we film it using the angles/shots and movements that we will use will make it look much more interesting and we have already written a script for our actors to say so we just need to find out when me and my group are going to film and where we are going to film it, but our idea so far is to film in school using one of the lower school coridors and one of the rooms which lie there. We had this idea because its like the kind of place that would be in a police station, but were not quite sure what decade to base it in yet!

My final double page spread
Here is my final double page spread. My first idea of my double page spread didn't look much like this the colour scheme was different it was pink and white, but i changed this because it was too feminine and classy and didn't go with the front cover, so they I changed it to the colours vibe use in there magazine which was light blue, black and white but i added an extra colour which was grey which went with my front cover, and these colours look more professional the colours i first used seemed like it could be in a kids magazine which wasn't good at all. The layout of my double page spread came front one of Vibes double Page spread and it looks about the same just with different images and text.
I didn't put as many images along the top row because I wanted them more spread out, also the contrast of mine wasn't as high as vibes. I made the images at the top black and white because it makes the main image stand out more because its in colour and also i changed the opacity to they wouldn't stand out as much again. iI like vibes double page spread because all the other ones I've seen so far are all pretty much the same 1 large image on the left/right and text on the other side, so i chose to imitate this one because it is different, and thats what i wanted to achieve, Different! I have all the main conventions you would see on a double page spread which is the page, number, web address and small bits of text saying who took the photo and where, also quotes from the artists. I chose this main image because it seems like she's looking at the text on the right of her or looking at the miniature photos of her on her right, also because its like she's bending down, like she can fit in the page. I also copied the V OLU ME in the top right corner because i liked it and it was laid out like my title of my contents so it shows continuity, but instead of putting 'NOW' i put 'VO LU ME 3 OUT NOW' because i didn't understand the 'NOW'. But I think that my double page spread turned out good and I'm happy with it there's nothing I personally would change.
Here was the start of my double page spread and as you can see the colours don't work too well, the photo on the right wasn't cut out and blurred properly it was a bit of a mess and the photo was all that great anyway, instead of looking like a singer she looked more like a person on a kids TV show so it wasn't good at all, but the lighting wasn't to bad. The photo on the wasn't cut out completely, I had to boast up the contrast and brightness because the lighting wasn't very good, but it wasn't a bad pose.

Would my magazine be priced or Free?
I would like my magazine to be priced but not for to much money because I wouldn't have thought people would be very interested as they can see whats happening with artists on the internet , but because it is priced it would include free codes to upload music to there ITunes. Also there would be digital subscriptions so iPad editions, interactive magazines and codes published in physical title that unlock extra content online.

My Double Page Spread Layout
Here is my ideal layout for my double page spread obviously the pages are going to be next to eachother and this is what it would look like, the smaller images will be black and white while the big image will be in colour, all the images will be the same person just doing different poses with the same clothes on. The red lines mean 5 thin lines next too eachother like in one of the NOW double page spread ones. I'm hoping that it would look like the Now double page spread because I quite like it, it looks quite fun and st ylish!

Double Page spread Research
I have researched on different types of Double Page spreads, there are some which I really like and hope to do something like and there are some which I really don't like maybe because of the image, the way its laid out or the colours used.
Here is one which I dont no whether i like it or not. I really like the font of the title, because its bold, stands out and looks like the letters have been cut out from a newspaper or magzine. The image is Ok but its not very exciting, doesn't look like a good quality image and the colours are quite boring, the text alright, it looks a bit like a nespaper at the bottom. But the thing that is what im not so keen on is that it looks quite plain and theres not a lot on it and I'm not too keen on the layout of the page.
Heres another double page spread which I have looked out I still think that it looks quite plain but the image is much, better it looks more interesting and COOL! They've used fading to make the golden person pop out from the other people in the band. There clothes look more posh and not so down to earth so they look more like superstars/singers that more people no. There' s also a clear colour scheme of golds whites and silvers, which i find is more interesting.
Heres one Double page spread which I really like and this is hopefully the one which I am going to imitate, or just take certain parts from it. I am chosing to imitate this one because I took photos which are similar to these ones, of showing the whole body and doing different actions. I also took a really good image to be the big coloured one at the front. I no that I will have to add more text than other double page spreads which is the thing which I am not so sure on, but I dont mind because I might add other pictures or enlarge the others ones such as the ones at the top so it will fill up more of the page. I have already started on my double page spread by adding the lines through the middle and adding the main image and started to edit it, I also may take some more pictures for the black and white photos at the top. I also like the Blue which they have used for some of the text which really stands out and the main image at the front really stands out because of the clothes she has worn of reds, blues and pinks, which I think is a really good Idea so I might try and get someone to wear some bright colours so that my double page spread really stands out!
Target Audience
I' ve shown that I have targeted a certain audience by the text, images and fonts I have portrayled in both my front cover and my contents page. The audience that I have targeted is mainly for young adults age ranging from about 15- 20 or for people who really enjoy listening to rap, hip hop and pop music.

Contents Page
Heres the one of the contents pages that I thought I was going to use then I finally done another photoshoot and produced some morephotos by editing them and cropping them on photoshop. I changed this one because I thought the image wasnt good enough, I also thought that it looked to similar to jthe front cover, because its the same person same clothes etc. So I changed it by taking some more photos...So Here is the final contents page I have produced, I got my inspiration for making this contents page from Vibe, In the vibe contents pages they also have the letter V in the background and I thought I would do the same by using the 'I' for INTERCEPT, also I blurred the 'I' into the background so it would more interesting and be different to the Vibe because the edges of the V are sharp rather than blurred and I think they both work. I chose to do the font simliar to the Vibe magazine because I dont want the magazine to be completely made up of Sans Serif text, so I chose to use Serif text aswell. Just to put a bit of mixture in the types of fonts.
I also chose the add the long box at the bottom like on the front cover, to give a sense of continuity, obviously it wouldnt have the same in each box, each box would contain INTERCEPT, and some information about the magazine, date, email etc.
The contents title is sort of the same I have just chosen to put the 'CO' 'NTEN' 'TS' out of line, so it would be similar to the Vibe magazines title, but still different. I chose to do something a little different to my photos I was taking by adding in some props and not just having someone looking at the camera with a straight face! I thought that umbrellas are quite intersting, or hats so I chose to add some of them in and then chose what I wanted for the final contents, main Image.

Contents Page
I started off by getting the image i wanted for the contents page the cutting it out, editing it and then finally blurring the edges. I then chose the font i wanted on Dafont, chose the size and how it was going to be positioned.
I then positioned where i wanted the photo, also the contents page title, I chose to put the title on the ride side of the page at the top because basically thats where Vibe puts there contents and I chose to do the same as them. Also then adding the same strip of colour at the bottom like on the front cover but a different colour. Though i couldnt decide what i wanted in the long box at the bottom.
I then decided to add the first letter of the name of the magazine, which was I which I imitated from the vibe magazine. Also adding the text and lettering that i wanted in the long box at the bottom.
I finally then added the text I chose to put the text on the right side of the page because basically thats where the Vibe magazine had put it so I chose to do the same. , changed the angle of I in the background. But i might make some adjustments, like the picture or possibly adding a border. Wednesday, 4 January 2012
Contents Page Research
Here are two vibe contents pages, although they dont contain loads like the NME of Q magazine, they give out the correct information and by doing this they dont need to have everythimg crammed on one page.
I love how the title has been done, its different to the other contents pages, so i think i might steel this idea and change it slightly.
I think the pictures they use for each contents page are great photos and dont need to have anything else on them. I think I'm going to design my contents page like this!
Here are two simpilar contents pages,
Here are two similar contents pauges, one is Kerrang! and the other one is NME, there both quite crammed and contain loads of pictures and information. I dont think they look as professional as the vibe contents page. They have images from different places and gigs, whereas the vibe pictures seem to be in a studio. I do like how the wiriting is layed out and the different fonts and sizes of text.
Heres a Q contents page it doesnt have has much on it like NME and Kerrang and the images are taken with more thought and the pictures are more professional even though they are not in a studio, there are of higher quality.
Heres a contents page which if found on the internet, which someone has made themselves, you can obviously tell this is not a proper contents page basically because of the image, it is of a low quality abd you can see the pixels, also the background is still there the checkered floor so it is very poor. It's title ios also very boring and is like a school like magazine contents page. Tuesday, 3 January 2012
contents idea?
Ive started researching my contents page and i ihave and idea of the layout for it and here it is. I really like the way vibe lay there contents page out, its pretty much a plain background with a image in a studio, a contents title and the text which is pretty much what i have shown.
