Heres another presentaion i made up of comparing the things i liked of clash and vibe. I said the things i liked about vibe and the things I didnt, there werent many things i liked about clash thoughMonday, 28 November 2011
The position of the person on this vibe magazine is the position I have used for the person who is posing for my magazine. I like how he is crouched its more interesting and when he is stood up with his arms folded its a bit boring. The thing that I have done is had a picture of him sat on a chair instead i have him sat on a small amplifier. Tuesday, 15 November 2011

I have already been thinkig about what I want to call my music magazine and also what I want it too look like, the name I have come up with is Intercept and thats the name I am going to use. I have looked at different types of font i could use on dafont and here are my findings...
The ones which i like the most are the 3rd one, bottom left and top right, but i think the music that i want in my magazine will suit the top right one most. so i have to make my decision. I did also really like the first one, ut the only problem is that It doesnt really stand out at you, ts really faint and that would be the problem, i want it to catch peoples eyes and make them want to buy it. Here are another three magazines the Duffy one I don’t like the ‘Son of Dave’ Cd cover on the bottom right, it takes up ¼ of the main image, and I think it ruins the front cover. I do like the main image, I do like the picture of Duffy though, she’s seems quite bright because of the background is quite a dull colour, I also like the text is going around the main image, it gives it a kind of outline. Also the title is great but I don’t think the font of it matches the artist on the front cover. That kind of font seems like it should be on a ‘VIBE’ magazine. I really like the ‘VIBE’ magazine because the title is big and bold and matches the singers who are in this magazine; they have a colour scheme it seems like of back red and white, which I like it really works well. Also the text is either underneath or beside the main image which Is good, it also seems like it’s giving the main image an outline which makes the main image stand out more, and gives it a 3D edge to it. ‘Songlines’ is another magazine I found, I do like the colours it makes the magazine stand out. I’m guessing this magazine is targeted at mix race and religion because of the artists we see on the front cover. The font of the masthead definitely fits with the genre this is made for. It’s not the magazine I would read but I can imagine it being a good magazine for people who like that kind of music.
I have to say I prefer these music magazines much more than the three other magazines at the start, they stand out more, there more to my taste and I just love the colours used on some of them. ‘Mojo’ I love the way the main image is underneath the masthead. Also the page isn’t full with loads of information, it’s only got the little bit of text at the bottom and top, I really like this layout because it’s not overloaded. Also I lie it how the main image fills the whole page. The second magazine is ‘MIXMAG’ the colours are great, it has ranges of font and loads of different sizes of text. Also I love the layout of the writing; it’s around the edge of the page. The only thing that I’m not so keen on is the whole of a CD cover at the bottom right; I think it ruins the layout of the whole page; it looks like they have just plonked it in the middle of the page. The third one ‘NME’ the masthead and the puff stand out loads because of the colours, love how they have done this. The red colour onto the white makes it really stand out, but the white onto the black stands out much more, it’s bold and the text makes you want to read this magazine. The layout is brilliant and Lily Allen has matching hair and clothes to this magazine, it’s a bit gothic. I also like the way some of the text and puffs are coming off of the page. But its not really my kind of magazine.
As you can see all of these posters have a different genre, some of them I don’t like because of the pictures or because of the way they are laid, the one which I like the best in the top row is probably the first ‘Q’ one because of the picture, he’s dressed quite casual and down to earth but I don’t really like the way the magazine is laid out, its to plain and personally I think its very boring and not eye-catching at all. Also compared to the others it is quite classy. The second one I completely dislike because of the image and of the colours, but the way it is laid out with the kind of smashed glass is very eye-catching and interesting. The third one I still do not like the picture, it seems like the people on the front are rebellious and really hard core, they look quite punk rock people also they look a bit like trouble makers . It doesn’t look like the kind of music magazine I would read, it seems a little like the people are, ‘kerrang’ also has smaller images on the page and showing you what else is in the magazine and taking you away from the main image. The things that I like about all of these magazines are that all of the main images are all on top of the masthead, and I really like that effect.
